F4U-4
F4U-4 Corsair. Okinawa, June 1945. The F4U-4 was the first version of the Corsair approved for carrier deployment. The earlier F4U-1D was prone to low altitude/low speed stall/spins that made it extremely dangerous at carrier approach speeds (it was nicknamed the Ensign Eliminator among other things) so it was issued exclusively to land-based Marine squadrons. The -4 version had several small changes that improved its low speed handling.
