SBD-3 Dauntless dive bomber flown by Lt. Richard Best from the USS Enterprise at Midway, June 4 1942. Best is credited with single-handedly sinking the IJN Akagi. His bomb hit near the midships elevator and started a fire which quickly spread and caused secondary explosions among unsecured ordinance and fueled aircraft on the hanger deck.
